The Munich Philharmonic and its renowned resident conductor, Christian Thielemann, come to Korea this month. Its repertoire will include Strauss’s “Don Juan” and Brahms’s “Symphony No. 1.” Thielemann follows in the Austro-Germanic conducting tradition, along with fellow greats Richard Wagner as well as Thielemann’s own mentor, Herbert von Karajan. The Munich Philharmonic was founded in 1893 and is one of three orchestras based in Munich. It will perform on Nov. 11 at the Seongnam Arts Center. Tickets range from 80,000 won ($88) to 240,000 won.
