The 2007 Hina Matsuri Japanese Doll Festival will be celebrated at the Japan Cultural Center until March 3. The festival, which celebrates the happiness and health of young girls, has been a popular seasonal tradition in Japan since the Edo period. Hina dolls, ornamental dolls representing ancient Japanese royalty, are on display. This year, craft works from the members of the Takarazuka Handicraft Association can also be viewed. Visitors are invited to take part in the free handicraft lessons on offer at the exhibition. For further information, call the center at (02) 765-3011.
