Israel’s Batsheva Dance Company, founded in 1964 by Martha Graham and Baroness Batsheva De Rothschild, visits Korea with “Three,” the newest work by artistic director Ohad Naharin.
True to its name, the work is divided into three sections: Bellus (beauty), Humus (earth) and Secus (a word that can mean “this” and “not this”). They display Naharin’s take on the daily life of the people in his homeland of Israel.
The accompanying music includes Glenn Gould’s recording of Bach’s “Goldberg Variations.” Expect to see cutting-edge dance from a culturally diverse company.
Performances will take place at 8 p.m. on Oct. 24 and 25 at LG Arts Center. Tickets range from 30,000 won to 70,000 won.
