Insa Art Center is hosting an exhibition featuring contemporary paintings from 11 African countries, including South Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal and Ghana.
About 50 paintings comprise the collection, which belongs to Jung Hae-kwang, the president of the Seoul-based Gallery Africarho, who amassed these works over the course of three years. The paintings in this particular exhibit focus on the theme of women and seek to convey a universal message of peace through their diversity in form and color. Some of the featured artists include Ablade Glover of Ghana and Ria Van Den Heever of South Africa. Expect to see pieces from southeast, central and west Africa. The exhibit will be open until Aug. 28. For more information, call (02) 736-1020.
