CZECH EXHIBITIONS

The Czech Embassy in Seoul will hold an opening ceremony today for two exhibitions. “All the Beauties of the World” is in commemoration of Jaroslav Seifert (1901-1986), Czech poet and the winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1984, and “Man Who Gave Name to Robots” pays tribute to Czech writer Karel Capek (1890-1938), who literally created the word “robot.”

Seifert and Capek are among the most prominent Czech writers and the exhibitions will serve as a good opportunity for Korean people to experience the literature, historical background and life of Czech writers, the Czech Embassy said.

The exhibitions will run until March 12, with an opening ceremony today at 5:30 p.m. at the Korea Foundation Cultural Center, in the JoongAng Ilbo Building in central Seoul.
