Insa Art Center this month opens an exhibit of paintings by the former Korean ambassador to Bulgaria, Kim Seung-eui. Titled “Sofia Rhapsody” after the Bulgarian capital, this will be Kim’s fifth private art exhibition at the gallery. Kim has painted throughout his 30-year diplomatic career, during which he’s served in the United States, Germany, Portugal, Thailand, Congo, as well as Bulgaria. With paintings reminiscent of Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky, Kim produces a fusion of traditional and modern European art, tinged with Korean influences. Among those expected to attend the opening reception of Sofia Rhapsody are a number of Korean and overseas diplomats. While the exact dates of the exhibit have yet to be announced, those interested should check http://english.ganaart.com for more information.
