Aug. 19: Adventure Korea will explore Korea’s Demilitarized Zone in Paju, Gyeonggi. The DMZ was established in 1953 after the declaration of the cease-fire during the Korean War. The group will arrive at Imjingak, the northern limit of civilian access. After registering to pass the Civilian Control Line, the team will eat lunch inside the DMZ at the Unification Village.
Next, the group will descend to the mine-like Third Tunnel, which was dug by North Koreans in 1978 in an attempt to infiltrate the South. Later, at Dora Observatory, visitors can view the DMZ and Gaeseong, the second-largest city in North Korea.
The bus will leave from Express Bus Terminal Station, line No. 3, exit 8 and Hongik University Station, line No. 2, exit 1, at 9 and 9:30 a.m., respectively. The group will return to Hongik University Station at 5:20 p.m. and Express Bus Terminal Station at 5:50 p.m.
