Oct. 28: The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea is hosting its Government and International Affairs Committee meeting under the topic “Korea-EU FTA: Its Implication to American Business, in Comparison to the Korea-U.S. FTA” next week.

The guest speaker is Lee Hye-min, Korea’s deputy minister for trade and its chief free trade agreement negotiator.

The Korean and European Union governments cemented a free trade agreement on Oct. 15. Officials are expected to sign the deal early next year, and it will go into effect by the end of 2010. The meeting is aimed at people who are interested in finding out more about how this watershed agreement will impact all areas of business.

The event, which costs 59,000 won for members and 69,000 won for non-members, will be held in the Namsan I room on the second floor of the Grand Hyatt Seoul at 11:30 a.m.
