Sunday: RASKB is arranging a rafting tour to the Dong River in Gangwon. The 60-kilometer-long (37 miles) river flows through the limestone of the mountainous Gangwon area, which attracts tourists with its forested scenery. Environmentalists and conservationists will lead the tour. The Dong River area is also known for providing a natural habitat for endangered species, such as wild ducks and herons. The rafting itself will take about three-and-half hours. The 15-kilometer rafting course is rated class 2-3, suitable for novices and intermediates. During the rafting tour, the group will visit several rocky outcrops, valleys and beaches. The whole family is invited to participate. The trip costs 64,000 won for members and 76,800 won for non-members.
The bus leaves at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday from Yongsan Post Office, near Sinyongsan Station, line No. 4, exit 1, and returns around 9 p.m.
