Feb. 6 to 9: For those who enjoy winter sports and meeting new people, Adventure Korea is planning a Lunar New Year special trip to Pyeongchang. This trip includes skiing at Phoenix Park resort, which would have served as one of the venues for the 2014 Winter Olympics had the city won its bid. Snow hiking and ice fishing in the scenic Bangdong Valley are also available. On Friday, after two days of skiing, the group will move to the Gorgeous Mountain Cottage in Bangdong Valley, Inje for a night of relaxation. The next day will be a little more active, with snow hiking to Narin Creek, ice fishing and a soccer game on a snow field. The trip will offer a chance to experience a traditional mountain jjimjilbang, a public bath and sauna, where the warmth is generated by heated jade, ocher and charcoal. The trip costs 320,000 won. The group will depart from Hongik University Station, line No. 2, exit 1 at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6. The return is set for 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9.
