Nov. 9: SudaGongbang is an organization that provides advanced skills for garment workers. The institution was established by a support group for women workers under the leadership of Cheon Sun-ok, the sister of labor activist Cheon Tae-il. For this fashion show, which will be held at Seoul Fashion Art Hall, the graduating students of SudaGongbang’s program will be onstage to showcase the clothes they designed and manufactured.
A wide range of special guests will be participating, including the ministers of Labor and Gender Equality and Family, the presidents of Woori Bank and Citibank and musicians Yang Hee-eun and An Chi-hwan. These two pop stars will close the event with a celebratory performance. The show will start at 6 p.m. Tickets for 50,000 won ($55) include a dinner of organic foods.
