Aug. 30 to 31: Gangbuk District is holding its annual Mount Samgak Festival this month. Located in northern Seoul, Mount Samgak is considered one of the most scenic mountains in Korea.

Saturday night’s concert and singing contest will be held from 6 to 9:30 p.m. The highlight of the festival will be Sunday’s hiking competition, which will take place over 9.2 kilometers (5.7 miles) of mountain trails. It starts at 8:30 a.m. and will end with a Korean-style lunch at 2 p.m., provided free of charge.

Any expatiate who loves hiking is welcome to join.

From Suyu Station, buses will take participants to the festival location, departing at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m. on Sunday.
