Tuesday: The Royal Asiatic Society Korea Branch is hosting a lecture titled: “Along the Yalu: Travels in China while Peeking into North Korea.”

Unlike the heavily fortified DMZ to the South, the Yalu River, which separates China from North Korea, is a much more active and transparent border, providing visitors a completely different view of life in both China and North Korea.

Over the past two years B.J. Gleason has made several trips to the region and will share his stories and photographs of places rarely visited by Westerners.

The lecture will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the second floor lounge of Somerset Palace, located opposite the Japanese Embassy in central Seoul.
